Turn off maintenance light

The check engine light is not a maintenance light, if that's what you're asking about. It's a warning light telling you your vehicle needs a repair, usually emissions related. Visit your favorite repair shop, they can scan the computer, tell you what's wrong, and what needs to be done to fix it. Then the check engine light will be turned off, by the shop, and stay off.
