This happened to my g35, lights stay on and cruise control wouldn't work. The plate that presses and releases switches on brake pedal has two plastic pieces in the holes, they pop off and no longer press the switches. Need to replace those plastic pieces.

Any clue which one is for the brake light? 2002 Infiniti I35, was told to look for something called STOP L., 15 amp fuse. Brake lights coming on and draining the battery, even with stop light switch completely removed form the circuit. Need to pull fuse so I can charge battery and at least run the car and get it to a shop because there's apparently another electrical path that has been created that is bypassing the switch and keeping the brake lights on. Otherwise I'll have to pull all the bulbs out of the tail section and rear window.

Here is a little info from my experience with our 2004 G35. There are small plastic inserts on the brake pedal in 1/4 or so holes that engage the switch. Ours finally broke. Took some trial and error but found some fasteners that fit the holes and worked like a charm.

On my 2004 Infiniti FX45 my brake lights would stay on all the time. The fix was to replace the rubber bumper pad on the upper brake pedal arm. (Infiniti Part# 46584- 5P010.) Note:: You need 2 of these. One to depress the brake light switch plunger... to turn off the brake lights; and the other pad is used in a similar manner for the cruise control to work.
