Overheating

Asked by GuruXQK2J Nov 05, 2018 at 10:46 AM about the 2001 INFINITI I30

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have an 01 infinity i30. It has a new
thermostat and radiator but still overheats.
Any suggestions on what I should look for
problem wise?

I replaced a cracked radiator a lame waterpump and replaced an old thermostat that afterwards checked good. I primed the engine and burped the air. Head gasket or cracked head? No fluid on the ground, no steam out the pipe. Ran to an identical parts car out back and grabbed a seemingly brand new radiator cap, put it on revved it up until the needle went hot, ..... then let it idle 5 minutes and it came back down to near center. Badda Bing !! Because if it's not the stat, pump, Fan, fan clutch, radiator or cap, it's ALL bad news from there.
