What is a red light like a lightening in parentheses mean?

my car wouldn't start and this light came on and my car was beeping like I had the lights on or my key was in the ignition with the car door open but I had my key in my hand and my lights switch was off.  This light came on.

wont recognize key ...sound like u driving a mopar car possible...
