What type of gas does the Chevy Cruze Lt need? Premium or regular ?

Its going to depend on which engine it has, it will also tell you in your owners manual and probably say something about it by the gas filler neck if it requires premium.
regular but you could use premium every now & then is good. the only thing running on premium today are caddys & high performance vehicles.
The little turbo 4 cylinder engines in the eco cars are actually taking premium now due to the ammount of power they are getting out of the little engines. Another vehicle that takes premium is the v6 camaro.
Oh one other thing its pretty much a waste of money to put premium or mid grade gas in a vehicle that only requires regular. Without getting into too much detail the car was programmed to run on regular and will be its most efficient with that fuel in it. Its also a bad idea to run regular in a car that takes premium because it will slowly destroy the inside of your engine and can make the tops of your pistons look like the surface of the moon with craters all over it.
Oh ok thx again. I'm trying to determine whether I should get the cruze or not. I like the safety aspect of it. Its between the Chevy cruze, Toyota corolla and Honda civic.
It will be my first car and I want something safe and reliable.
All three are good vehicles I think the cruze has the potential to get better fuel economy than the other two if you are looking for that as well.
I don't trust any other grade of gas in my car yet. They say you should use Premium once per month to keep the fuel line clean and increase performance. My car is still a baby to me, so I keep to the Regular grade. I know what they said about the Cruze and MPG, but it'll get about 25 MPG average. They only way to make it more is to either have manual transmission or drive perfectly legal (you know.. brake easy, don't speed, correct PSI in all 4 tires, etc). :rolls eyes: Anyway.. I love my car. I used to have an Altima, but wound up in an accident last June and totaled it. The Cruze was always my first choice, but just started affording it lol.
i have a question with the 2014 eco automatic.. it says something about diesel but im trying to save on gas money thats the point of having an eco isnt it.... anyway my question is does it run on regular gas or diesel
Have to wait and see. There is a Cruze coming out that will be a TDI type of thing. Diesel fuel, better MPG. I haven't seen it yet, but I heard of it. If you have any questions of what type of fuel to use, refer to your owners manual. In the 2014 case, maybe Google it or look at the specs on the Chevy site.
"Use regular unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 87 or higher. If the octane rating is less than 87, an audible knocking noise may be heard. If this occurs, use a gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher as soon as possible. If heavy knocking is heard when using gasoline with a higher octane rating, the engine needs service." I use premium in my 2012 cruze and i get between 42 amd 48 mpg highway

The 1.4l turbo needs atleast 89 octane or it "spark knocks" .
What type of has does Chevy 2016 take
I use 91 octane with octane boost but i also have stage 3 chip and air intake modification that allows 91and higher octane plus with the turbo spooling up more and the engine running harder with this Arizona heat i noticed anything below 91 actually had a huge power loss after engine runs a trip to town in a 30min drive after adding the octane booster with the 91 premium i noticed no loss of power and it runs way healthier now if your cruze is stock run mid grade or above 89 works well with my tune but after temp outside hits 110 then it knocks after running hard
I have a 2012 cruze eco boost. I run 92 oct. It get on average 37 mpg. On the high way its like 47 mpg on long trips.
Does a 2015 Chevrolet cruze 1.4 ls use gas to run the AC? Reason why I'm asking I have used the AC a few times for long distances and haven't noticed a drop in my fuel consumption. I know like the ford eco sport it doesnt use gas to run the AC so I was wondering if the Chev is the same?
AC will always affect fuel milage... may not be that noticable but the engine must work harder to prove additional load to power the AC's compressor, no different than powering your refrigerator at home.
2016 Cruze LT Eco does turbocharge does anyone knows what kind of gas it takes?
I have a 2018 Cruze LS Eco 1.4L w/turbo and I use reg gas and get avg 35/45 but can get 55 mpg. Your 16 takes reg gas.
I drive Chevy Cruz Ltd wanted to mention when I start driving it for about 15min and cut it out it still runs for about 5mins before it shuts down . What’s up with that.
If you got over 120,000 miles; my guess would be the electric fuel pump in the tank. They'll do that for a little while before it finally doesn't start.
The Cruze A/C is conventional belt-driven, and does affect mileage. I've seen the instant MPG cut in half based on if A/C is on or off at like 40-45MPH or so (the engine will run at low RPM, like 1300RPM, in this case, to produce the few HP needed to cruise; so the extra few HP for the A/C can really throw it off mileage-wise in this case.) On the highway, it's already up towards 2000 RPM (not loafing along at like 1400), producing more HP, the few HP for the A/C are (as you've seen) pretty much not measureable in this case. As for the original question, the older 1.4L Cruzes listed 87 in the manual, but I've read that per someone or other at GM powertrain it gains 10-14HP with 91-93 octane. I found if it's cold out it makes minimal difference, if it's like 80s on up it makes a major difference in throttle response and shift points (it can loaf along in top gear with 93 on hills or (some) acceleration where it'd have to downshift with 87.). Newer Cruzes (2016+) have direct injection, which is a miracle for octane requirements; the fuel that could pre-ignite to ping orknock doesn't exist (the fuel injector hasn't injected it yet), so you can tune an engine so it'd need 93, hell, 96 octane gas, and it'll run fine on 87 just due to the direct injection.

I have a 1.4l engine. I've used regular for a long time now and had no issues. Where I live the octane rating is 85 for regular...this is below what GM recommends but I've never had knocking. I like to put premium in when it is warmer outside and I do so about once per month. In the summer months I do notice when running higher octane ratings the car does run smother and I have more power to run the AC which normally would make the car sluggish on regular. In the winter I always stick to Regular because there is no difference when its cooler. Might as well save money.
