Error codes P2076 and P0420

Possibly, but there is no code related to Chevy p2076. The po420 has to do with the catalytic converters....Possible causes: Three way catalyst converter Bank 1, Exhaust tube, Intake air leaks, Fuel injectors may be faulty, Fuel injector leaks, Spark plugs may be faulty, Improper ignition timing, Powertrain Control Module (PCM)...As the code description implies the P0420 code means that the vehicle's control module has detected that the three-way catalytic converter is not working properly (is not as efficient as the factory is expecting). Replacing the oxygen (O2) sensors may sometimes fix the code, but in most cases the catalytic convert needs to be replaced to fix the problem. If the P0420 code is combined with other codes, try fixing the other codes first.
Hey everyone I have 2012 sonic 1.4 I have the po420 code, I have a zzp catback exhaust. I have both cats, I replaced the cat closest to the motor along with both O2 sensor, code came back after a month. Any suggestions ?
I had the same problem with a new aftermarket cat and the mechanic told me (after the installation, of course) that he’s heard of a lot of the aftermarket cats failing and that I need to go to the dealer. I got the part through rock auto (not eBay or other cheap place) and had meineke install and all together it costed $600. Dealer would have been a lot more, but now I’m stuck because rock auto wants the bad part back after I buy another and pay for installation, then they’ll refund me for the part. Not sure why aftermarket cats are for sale if they’re known to not work
The premium cat available at the dealer is designed for California emissions which is a stricter standard than the other 48 states. The dealer cat has higher precious metals in it making it clean the air better and preventing the code from coming back on.
I have put a Rock Auto cat on my 2004 Pontiac 3.8 liter and it worked fine. Of course, I had to address the problem of which, Why did the cat go bad in the first place. Fix any exhaust leaks, plug wires and bad plugs first. Misfires will cause raw fuel to destroy a cat and keep throwing rich O2 codes. Of course these are just a few of many things that can cause havic over time with your cat and end up destorying it.
