What do you guys think??

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Rpms jump around in park and sometimes while driving.
Makes the car shake little while its idling. Sometimes dies
when you turn it on and let it sit for 15 seconds. Other
times itll stay running fine but then itll act up after that.
Codes that pop up all lead to camshaft sensor bank 1 and
2. Already replaced those. Then something about the
timing chain. Took apart and the chain looks just fine.
Really stumped on what to do next.

If you get tire traction warning when it does after idling rough than you need to clean or rplace your throttle body you will notice a huge improvement with performance and while u clean that clean air intake syestem the hose and change filter if dirty. When toggling with throttle body unolug the battery frim both terminals and if the system diesnt reset thorttle body postion from being unoluhed than fo throttle body relearn procedure of turing car on put it in driv with foot on brake and when rpms droo to 500-800 put it in nuetural wait a a few seconds than put it in park than turn off and repeat.

With the relearn when u put it in drive it may idle high at first but be patient itll drop somtimes it can take 2 minutes but when it drops put it in neutral it can also be your mass air flow sensor so clean that as well there all aprt of the same goal of getting the right amount of air into your engine and from what you describe you have a lean air mixture your not getting a good air to gas ratio. Get the code read to see what it is but if it is any if these i recommend you fix it yourself a shop would charge you about 900$ for a new throttle body and mass air flow seonsor and the new gasket for the throttle body and they wint clean your intake system.they just replace your hose and charge y fir that but the thorttle body is easly accessible on malibus and is only (4) 12mm bolts right on top under the engine lid and the gasket goes in easy right under it and it one has one electrical plug and for the senser its right by the intake hise the by the filter box and is just 2 star screws to take off oarts for throttle body with gasket is about 180 and 80 for a sensor so 260 instead of 800-1000
