I Need to instal a remote starter on my 2012 Passat and don't want to give up my spare key. I've heard of a new module that by passes this problem.Has anyone heard of this?Tnx a lot !

You could go on Ebay.com and order another key or even buy 2 extra and It will cost you 7-8 Dollars eack key.
I just installed a remote car starter and alarm on my car. The thing my friend did, who installed it, He took the one and only key I owned and placed it in the module box and I used the 2 keys I bought as 2 sets for my 2 remotes that I have.
hey Chris, Tnx for ur reply. It's a bit more complicated with new VW cars. They cut the key based on the VIN number of the vehicle and they are electronically programed to only work on one specific car, I guess as a security feature. So the only way to get a spare key would be to order one through VW and they only come with the fob, which makes them more expensive.
