Heat on armrest cup holder rear seat

Asked by Griselda Jun 01, 2018 at 03:00 PM about the 2012 Toyota Sienna

Question type: General

After driving my Toyota Sienna for 10-15 minutes , I park
and then touch the cup holder in the rear seats on
passenger side only , and notice that they are very warm.
Not sure what is under there that could be causing this.
My mini van is 2012.

I am having the same issue in my brand new 2018.

If it is an exhaust pipe try some header wrap on that section of the exhaust. This should reduce the heat.

I expect it is due to the engine coolant circulating through the rear heater core located in the panel to the right/behind the 3rd row seats.
