Radiator leak & heater goes out at the same time. Thoughts?

Asked by Dablev1976 Mar 01, 2020 at 11:50 AM about the 2003 Isuzu Rodeo

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My radiator started leaking and I noticed a few minutes
later that my heater stopped blowing hot air, only cold. Is
there a correlation here that might point to the root cause?

No, the root cause is the radiator lost coolant and the heater core needs coolant flow to produce heat. So fix the leak, replace the lost coolant, and you'll have your heat back.

THE COOLANT GOES THROUGH THE RADIATOR AND THE HEATER CORE THEY ARE CONNECTED. FIX THE LEAK. ADD NEW COOLANT.
