blows no heat

Asked by Ram1500_2012 Dec 12, 2016 at 06:33 PM about the 2012 RAM 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2012 dodge ram 1500 is a base model truck.
The dealer ship has replaced my thermostat, cold
hot dial, and my heating core. In cold weather(-25C
or colder) it blows no heat. I turn the dial to front
instead of dash and it blows snow out on high
speeds.

After all that work, the dealer didn't confirm the repairs worked? Since they replaced the heater core, it should be safe to assume they ensured the blend door at least is working, but it sure reads like you have a problem with a mode door not working, maybe the recirc door? Did they touch the cabin filter at all?

I think maybe try a heater control calibration. Then all the doors and the heat will work together. Cause I know that duramax chevy and gmc if the batterys die the heat needs a recalibrate for a reason

Blower on low; hold air recirculation button in for 10 seconds, release; hold it in again until the recirc light flashes (about 10-15 seconds); release. It resets the stupid computer that has glitched. Found answer on another forum but don't have it here to post link.

What do you do if you don’t have a recirc button. I have a dial and sync/ac buttons only

When I press the recirculation button, it immediately flashes 3 times. If I hold it in, nothing happens. I still don't have any heat and it's -30C in Kenora, Ontario!
