I have fuel but no fire

We have a 1996 Ford Ranger 2.3 4 8 pluges
It will not start, It crankes like it is tring but nothing happens
What could cause this?

These trucks are notorious for developing corrosion inside the spark plug wires terminals at the coil packs . This can cause the coil packs to fail due to excessive resistance . remove and check all ignition cables for excessive corrosion build up . And you might want to consider ignition coil replacement as well . Additionally if the engine has been cranked excessively with no start . It is a good guess the spark plugs have been soaked and fouled with fuel residue . Remove and replace or clean and replace .
