1998 a4 quatro

Asked by Charles Mar 04, 2016 at 02:09 PM about the 2013 Audi A4 Allroad

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Was going to buy the car but when I drove away the
car would not shift. Went 40 mph at 5000 rpm.
After stopping was able to get car going faster at
lower rpm but still no shifting going on. Maybe
Lowe tranny fluid? Or is this major problems for the
future?

i had a 1998 audi a4 that had 367,000 km on it before developing a trany issue. Most likely the rear seal of the trany has been leaking and is low on fluid. But there is other issues such as solanoids sticking and shifter control moduals failing due to stuff gettting into the wiring harness so have it looked at and the fluids checked. I personaly would not buy it. You would be better off with something newer if you jsut need a car for driving instead of pleasure.
