2013 Subaru Legacy--every warning light on

Asked by Luckygonzo Feb 28, 2020 at 04:29 PM about the 2013 Subaru Legacy

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have recently purchased a 2013 Subaru Legacy. I am having an issue with it. I
can start it, but, every warning light comes on. The car runs rough, feels like
tranny is slipping and not shifting at the right time. Wondering if you guys have
heard of this before, I am seeing similar issues online, but I haven't seen a
solution

Yup. Why the ledd did you buy it? Used CVTs cost $1200-2500 +$500 to install. Do NOT think you can repair it incrementally. Return the car if you can. (Disclaimer: I sell 2016+ modern OBs and Legacys in the Boston area, and see MANY 2010-2014 era examples with ailing CVTs...so I've moved on to the more durable 2015+ version.) My daughter's lovely 2013 Limited is starting to growl, so the search for a CVT will be on my agenda this Spring too. PITA....

That said, the Christmas Tree dash effect may also indicate other system failures, but the driving phenomena indicate the bad CVT, as the 2013+ 2,5i DOHC motor does NOT have ignition or t-belt related stumbling issues. Sorry....
