What is the cost of a new engine for a 2013 Subaru 2.5L Outback?

I doubt you can buy a new engine, rebuilt yes, new no.
Subaru sells replacement short blocks for your car. You could install one of these and rebuild the heads. What exactly is the problem?
Original owner. Car has 99,000 miles. Serviced regularly. While driving the lights on the dash starting flashing and the car died. Subaru dealership doesn't seem interested in helping financially said its one of those unfortunate things that the engine is shot.
One of the spark plugs showed bad damage, have to take engine apart to find the problem according to Subaru
Find a local garage that works on Subaru's to get a second opinion. It might be repairable. In my experience Dealers love to replace parts vs diagnosing.

May just be a bad ignition coil at that cylinder. $25 used. Heads don’t go bad with the 2013+ DOHC. Regardless, used whole motors abound, in the event you have a bad block. Relax, and get a proper diagnosis. CEL? Ern
