How to fix my heater

Just bought a 2013 dodge avenger. And the heater
isnt working. Its blowing cold air but not heat. Also
I drove it 5 miles and the thermostat gauge didn't
move

Check the coolant level first, it might be low. If the level is fine, then I'd say it's either a Failed thermostat or a blend door issue. Have them tested before replacing parts.
