Crack open the owner's manual and take a look. The fluid specifications as well as capacity is listed there. And before you flame me I will answer your question....Motor oil goes in your 2013 Impala. You failed to ask what grade, brand or type so I replied generically.

We all love people who can't crack open the manual or look under the hood and then have a big fat attitude about it. Really we do.

I hear u Mark, I had to bust your chops just for a minute bro, it was just sitting right there. And I'm also aware that there would be some blowback from my Crack on your answer, not only from u but others as well, sumthin lIke this. "Dude are u that lazy u can't open your hood and look at the oil cap that says 40W in big yellow letters"? or "Bro, why are u giving the guy crap when he was just trying to help u bro"? LOL! I appreciate it and really I was just busting chops, have a good one Mark!

I took my car a 1013 Traverse to Walmart for an oil change where they had a special for $19.88. They said I had to use synthetic oil. I’ve never used synthetic oil. Not saying I wouldn’t but $19.88 compared to $45.00. I will. According to them they’re not allowed to put regular oil in anything 2013 or newer. Never heard of this. What say y’all?

Use only engine oil licensed to the dexos1 specfication, or equivalent, of the proper SAE viscosity grade. ACDelco dexos1 Synthetic Blend is recommended. 5W30 but if 20 below is the normal outside temperature, 0W30 may used in the winter for easier cold starts.

I've never had a problem starting my 2013 impala and I live in Michigan where winters get to 40 below. I've always had 5w30 dexos1 full synthetic in it. Just make sure you let it warm up if it's cold.

Wow. Some of your answers are ridiculous. I own a car and would like to know the answer to the original question so I can go to a shop and NOT get ripped off because I am female and have no clue about this particular thing. But of course instead some of you jerks have to do the “pissing contest” thing and unfortunately we all have to navigate around it to find the not sarcastic answer we tried to google. Props to you for being of no help
