Is there a way to store the keyless entry remote inside the car in such a way that it won't start it?

Question type: General

Say we go to the pool or the beach. With a traditional car, I could put my
key on a bracelet & wear it around my wrist & not worry the car was easy to
steal. With a 'keyless entry remote', what do I do? I'd rather not have to
keep an eagle eye on my stuff at poolside or beach. If I put it in a
waterproof container fastened to me somehow, I have to worry about leaks.
Is there a way to put the key fob in something inside the car so that you can
hide it & it won't start the car? Then I can lock up with an actual key & wear
it the old way. I tried a metal altoids box, but that didn't faze the transmitter:-
