Rear view camera
Asked by Natasha Feb 23, 2016 at 11:19 AM about the 2013 Honda Civic
Question type: Car Customization
Hello so quick question. My rear view
camera on my 2013 Honda Civic doesn't
work when I put it in reverse. This
happened after I jumped started my car.
Sunday cuz my interior light had been on
since Thursday. It was jumpstarted with my
boyfriend's car, 03/04 Volkswagen Golf.
When I turned on my car the radio and
time didn't show up along with the camera.
About 5 hours go by the radio/time works
and the the camera hasn't. Any reason for
that? The guy at autozone checked my
battery quality and said its a 60%. Thanks
for the help.

Jump start may have caused power overload, which could burn the fuse. Check the fuse which is responsible for your camera.
Where would the fuse be located. I'm not very car savey. I apologize.
Also would be that be a pricy fix if that is the case?

Fuses are really cheap. Live in UK im not sure about US but £1 is more than enough. I think in Honda 2013 the fuses are under the hood, under plastic cover. Im not sure which fuse is for rear camera, but it should say eother on yor car manual or under the plastic bit covering the fuses. Check if the metal sheet inside the fuse is broken/burned.
So I saw another post that suggested disconnecting the battery for 15 minutes to reset the system. My 2013 SI had the same issue after a jumpstart (my own fault) and after 15 min, voila! Worked like a charm :)
I have same problem with 2013 Honda civic, but when i turn on rear camera manually, i works but not working when i put my car in reverse gear
Take off the battery terminals for 15 minutes
