I recently bought a used 2006 Jeep Liberty.  After about a week, when I had to fill it up with fuel, I noticed that the little metal "flap" just inside the filler neck wasn't there like it is in most vehicles now days.  I called the dealer where I purchased it and they told me that the 2006 Liberty didn't come with one of those.  Does anyone belive that or have anymore answers for me?  It would be a GREAT help!

the dealer may be right but also it could haue been renoved.

I don't think that either of my cars have them. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as your cap is working, I don't think that the flap really does anything.

My wife's '07 Liberty does not have that flap either. Nor do my '07 Dodge Ram or '07 Dakota.
