Question type: Maintenance & Repair

A customer brought in a Jeep Grand Cherokee as
the engine light keepa coming on. We did basic
diagnostics that showed O2 sensors. We replaced
all four. Then it went off and came back on. Got a
proffesional diagnostica guy out and it shows
Bank 1 sensor 2 and Bank 2 sensor 1. Please help
if you have any idea why? what we may have done
wrong? what we can try? Thanks so much.

Possible crossed wire/connectors?.. In other words.. did someone label the wires/cables/connectors before they removed them form their respective places?..

Hi Mark, when we disconnected all the sensors we got fault codes for the two mentioned above. Not all four as should be... Will check the exhaust in the morn. Thank you so much for answering. We are at a brick wall!

Although it was easy to locate possible site connections, I've never had an o2 sensor issue with any vehicle we're own. So my question would be can the sensor themselves be placement oriented.. Meaning sensor 001 needs to be placed in slot or port 2.. or are the sensor universal.. Keep us posted on your discovery.

what brand of O2 sensors did you install. Perhaps try the OEM mopar ones. Why not just reinstall the original Sensors and test each of them.
