Jeep Grand Cherokee shaking

Asked by bdhtran Mar 09, 2018 at 12:35 AM about the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi All,

My wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee 2013 has been shaking randomly when driving anywhere between 50-90kph. To get around the problem she stops and restart the engine. This problem has been happening for the past 4 months. I've contacted my local Jeep dealer and they said it will cost me $180 for them to look at it. The car is service by Jeep on a regularly basis.

Anyone seen this problem before?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards
Brandon

Hi! Does the car "shake" at all times while you accelerate from 50-90kph and then it goes away after 90? Or does it only "shake" after you let off the throttle a bit and are "cruising"? Or does it "shake" when you're de-celerating anywhere between 50-90kph? Each of the above questions can point to different issues entirely, so its important that we can get as detailed as possible! Also, is the "shake" more of a vibration or a full-on shaking from left to right?

Old thread but current problem. I have a 99 grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4. Researched this problem and 90% said replace trac bar. I did but didn’t help. Noticed the front driver tire wouldn’t spin freely when off the ground. I replaced the brake caliper and it solved 90% of the wobble. I did not replace the rotor because it was fairly new. Probably should’ve had it turned at the least. The front end rattles like hell when I hit a bump, especially on driver side. TRE’s and ball joints seemed good when I checked for play. Replacing the shocks this week. I will try to update my findings.

I had this happen in my grand jeep cherokee. For years and yeears it was a 2002. It would scare me I would have to drive40 mph. I can't believe it is still happening in the jeep cars. Have they not figured this out yet?

I have a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. When I accelerate to around 30-50 mph, there is a shaking or vibration that is taking place, until I let up off the gas, then it stops. Any ideas? I’d like to know what this might be before I take it into the dealership. Thanks!

07 jeep cherokee here - so mine starts to shake/vibrate a little around 65 & a little more as it gets to 80 but when i let go of the gas or am cruising around that 65-80 (more towards 80) it feels more like a vibrate ? idk but vibrates hard as hell. does the similiar shake/vibrate that i said in the beginning when I de-celerate ... bf swore I needed new rims bc apparently my rim was bent, got new rims, still happening . HELP !
