my 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander lift gate opens but automatically closes right away. that's all it does now

the lift gate opens and closes without allowing me to put anything in it and even
if i open it manually it won't stay open.

Mine just started doing exactly same thing this weekend. Going to take it to dealer tomorrow. Will post if further info...

I put mine into the Mitsubishi dealer eventually and they had to replace the struts. Luckily was still under warranty for me. Works fine again now.

Hi having problems with tail gate on my Mitsubishi Outlander making a rubbing sound when opening &scolding what could it be. ? Thanks

My 2014 just started having the same issue. The gate will open then automatically close itself.... Does anyone have a fix for this??

Same as a year ago! (I put mine into the Mitsubishi dealer eventually and they had to replace the struts. Luckily was still under warranty for me. Works fine again now.) Still works fine now :-)

bought the struts online from eBay for 50 bucks for a pair, watched a 4-minute video on youtube and changed it my self with minimal tools in less than 2 minutes...

Help I replaced the struts and it is still doing this.

Mine started doing this & I took it to a Mitsubishi Service Centre to get done & they wanted to charge me $551 for this service because it's out of warranty. I've watched how easy it is to do on YouTube so will be giving that a go.
