what causes squealing sound on my 5.7L gmc motor even with all belting removed?

See if you can determine if the noise is coming from the front or rear of the engine. If front I would suspect something to do with the timing chain maybe rubbing on the timing cover. If at the rear of the engine I would suspect something to do with the starter or flexplate (flywheel). Does the noise change with engine RPM? If not check the heater a/c blower motor.
