Question type: Maintenance & Repair
Whenever my 03 Jeep is in Neutral, there is a grinding noise, if I push the clutch in, it goes away. Also, my cailbers randomly lock up. With disc all the way around. Any thoughts? The Jeep has the 4.0 with a 5 spd. and only has 75000 on it.

it sounds like your throw out bearing might be on it way out or your pressure platemight be a little worn.
Yeah, the grinding noise is likley your throw out bearing. It's a big repair requiring down time at a shop or stealership. As for the brakes randomly locking up... that's just weird. Maybe try bleeding the system and making sure they are all set up right. Have you had a brake job done recently?

if you PUSH pedal down and noise goes away, prob. ft. bearing in trans. throw out bearings typically make noise under load, pedal pushed down. Now some transmissions have a normal "gear roll over" noise. if it is the ax-15, it should be pretty quiet. Im thinking that the noisey one is a NV???? new venture. Ive been away from Jeep for a few yrs, so some of it has to kinda come back to me...lol . hope this helps......
