Is it normal for a 2011 wrx to have shifter wobble ?

Asked by Jo Sep 24, 2015 at 08:03 PM about the 2011 Subaru Impreza WRX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Im about to purchase a wrx and when I tried it I noticed when flooring it and
shifting into second there is a wobble happening in the shifter once I let the
clutch go. I was told it is normal because its a high torque engine and also
because its a 4 wheel drive but im still uncertain.

no.. hight torque geez...i have 1000 foot pounds of tq,, no wobbles,. have someone first check the shifter/housing/ bushing and trans and motor mounts.....so ..beware.....

the mechanic at the dealer told me its normal.. said if you leave it in first and let the clutch go to almost stall it it will actually move the shifter the same way... 2nd mechanic who tells me that.. one of them works at subaru and the other owns one
