Idling low and refusing to start

I have a 95 ford contour and recently
it stopped wanting to start, if I give it
a lot of gas it will sometimes stay
started long enough to put in reverse.
It starts idling extremely low at
stoplights and shuts down. Acts like
it's not getting enough fuel. However
fuel pump has tested as fine, head
gasket tested fine, & new fuel filter
has been replaced. Any ideas ?!
