Same problem for me, got a jump and started right up, not starter. Saw a post earlier and may be charging system. I doubt alternator because i let it run maybe 20 mins ran to gas station n filled up never turned off then drove back home n turned off. Started right back up 3 times. If you findiut the problem please repost it.

My 2012 sonic won't start either starts right up with a jump my battery isn't two years old yet so what's going on had charging system checked out it's all okay

Hi, check ur anti theft system. Same problem I'm having and I just found out that the key has a transponder that automatically disables the theft system when removed. I had a new key made by a pop a lock service so it probably doesn't have that itransponder in it. I'm going to try and get a key from dealership. It also said that if the key is damaged or malfunctions it won't work. I hope this helps you!!

Took my 2014 chevy sonic LT to mechanic had Issue with starting come to find out hopefully the problem got fixed the connection on the ECM was dirty and corroded he cleaned it and put dialelec grease on it have to see if that works also the wire coming out of the starter is corroded to the starter sioniode if I have problems with starting I'll try that next hope this helps someone with the same problem
