I have a 1997 Jeep Cherokee 4.0 sport the car never had a over heating problem, I took the car to a workshop to repair the aircon after this the car started to over heat. I have replaced the raideator

what was replaced on the A/C?

A relay was replaced and was placed on the out side of the fuse box and a new on /off switch placed in the car for the aircon don't know why this was done. They also replaced some of the metal pipes. Thank you for your help.

you should have a centrifical fan clutch AND a electric fan, the electric fan is responsible for the cooling when the a/c is on it is possible that either the fan is locked up or who ever wired the relay didnt do it right, would be a better idea if the PDC under the hood was replaced. Did the replace the relay a rewire it becasue of a bad connector in the PDC?

Hi Chris I don't know if there was a problem with the PDC the electric fan does work and starts when the engine gets hot. The relay that was replaced is under the hood I see they have a wire going in to the fuse box I would like to know could this be the reason for the over heating. Thanks Hennie

Is there any way you could post a picture of the repair? and give exact details as to where it is going? And when you say hot how hot degree wise? A/C on will run a lil hotter maybe 8 degrees at max at a dead stop so around 210. Kinda scratchin my head on this one I was a chrysler tech for 12 years this is new.

Hi Chris I had a look at the work that was done on the ac and the thermostat on the ac was replaced and a relay and they fitted a new switch in the car. I think that the replacement of the thermostat on the ac is causing the problem can you give advice please. Hennie

does it overheat imediately or does it take a while, get hotter moving down the road or at a stand still? Maybe just maybe ive seen it before so it is possible, had a customer bring in a Ram with a 360CI and had a shop put a T-stat in. Long story short it was installed upside down!!!
