What you would need to accomplish is to get the original set-up that is in there now. This should not be a problem by swapping parts from one engine to the other. Just check it over good.

I just bought a 2001 jeep Cherokee with a blown head gasket but I have a perfectly running 1997 Jeep Cherokee that I was going to swap the engines. What will I need to do to convert the 1997 engine into the 2001 Jeep?
