are the vents what let the outside air in, engaged...in other words if a vehicle that is stinkin' black the whole parkin' lot, you've NO choice but to have to snirk it into the cabin? isn't there a fresh/recirc button....doesn't the air flow pass through the cabin filter?
judge-roy, I don't understand what you said. In my CR-V, one of the vent control button lights - whatever button is pushed active - is always on when the fan is off. Is this normal.

recirc/fresh----have you this button?....question is does a light engage when "recirc" is engaged....OR there is no recirc and fresh outside air comes in....deadly in a Clearlake grocery store parking lot~lot of mismatched body panels...cracked windows...cars that barely run and are smokin' that you cannot duck....even with the recirc engaged...your situation if probably of a modular nature....the environmental module is active and that's why the light comes on...probably if you switch the envrionmental control to OFF...the light will go away~~

it is normal if DEF is engaged...if the environmental selector puts it on...check the options...select, submenu, select type thing~...don't know for sure have not seen your control panel....but these days seems mostly software driven...shame..really~

let my try. the green light come son no matter what. you push a button to pick where you want the air to come from and a green light turns on. you turn the knob from off and air comes out of the vents. you turn the fan knob to the off position and the green light stays on and I still feel air still coming from the vents. at this point I believe one should feel no air because the system is off. yet a green light is on and air is flowing. did I explain it better?
crv2014 owner. i believe the light stays on so you know which vent you have selected. as far as air coming into the cabin you probably have it so the air from the outside can come in. there should be a button that recirculates the air in the car that should stop any outside air from coming through the vents. if the picture i have attached works its the far left button. the picture of the car with the arrow going in a circle in it. if you have that button pushed it will stop any air from coming in from the outside.
as far as the light, its always going to be on. i have an 07 accord and whatever vent i have selected theres a light on to let me know which vent is being used/selected. yes even if i have turned everything off

The light on the vent selector stays on. The off position only turns off the fan. Unless you close the vents with the recirc switch, air will pass through.
