I bought one for a 97 jeep grand cherokee fro from a wrecker with 100,000 miles or 160,000 km for $650.00. They also had one with only 70,000 miles on it for 800.00. I believe 96,97 and 98 yrs for JGJ are the same units. Good luck. oh call your jeep dealer they can give you the numbers for your transmission so you know you are getting the right one.

the prices I paid are in Canadian Dollars, I would be willing to bet they are cheaper in the U.S.A.
