Question type: Shopping & Pricing
Once again today (and yesterday) I found a vehicle
on Guru and the dealers actual price is much
higher. Still listed on here for 20k, I called them
cash in hand and was told the actual price is 29k.

Fully agree but my question is CARGURUS that's really at fault? CARGURUS apparently does not have rules that protect the consumer and is at the root of the problem. For a month now I have been looking for a car on the site, I've found several that I would buy at the listed price. When I read further in the ad I find that the listed price is only available AFTER I finance it with them, pay dealer prep fees and or be some kind of a preferred customer all of which add's up on average to another $1,000 over the ''listed'' price. This is false advertising but the root of the problem lies with CARGURUS FOR ALLOWING THE PRACTICE !!
As a disabled Vet, I am especially disgusted, that no degenerate person in office has done anything about the old Bait and Switch, its not the companies like Car Gurus etc. To police all the SCUM dealers out there would be an impossible task, But as a former CBS Television Network Cameraman in both New York and LA. Over the years I have done many stories about this very problem. In fact I was Walter Cronkite's personal cameraman, and remember talking with him back in 84, when I was shopping for a vehicle, He to was disgusted by the situation then....Good Luck to all you present day searchers, nothings changed.....S.
