The overdrive gear stripped,I am able to drive with the electric o/d turned off.Will a 518(46 R hydrolic or 46 R electric)or 618(47 R hydrolic or 47 R electric) will work for me.I am looking to buy a used replacement trans.

Hello Graham-- It all depends on which engine you have in your 1995 Grand Cherokee. The 46Rh works with the 5.2 engines. Four the 4.0 engine you would need the 42RE. There is a good site online concerning Jeep transmissions- go to http://www.jeeptech.com/trans/ for all the info. Good luck from Bovan.

the 42RE came in grands 93.3 and up. The AW4 was in the grands manufactured 93-93.3. These are for the 4.0L
