1993 six-cylinder Grand Cherokee Laredo Jeep runs hot

This jeep has a recently new radiator and rebuilt engine ; everything replaced but the
water pump. What has been over looked? What can be done to keep the engine cool?
Mechanic said water pump was good but I never had a problem jeep running hot until the
engine was rebuilt. I felt they damaged the radiator but would not confess and they put in
a new radiator and after sitting and letting engine idle 5 minutes it begins to start to heat
up according to temperature gauge.

hate to tell you this because they are devlish things but your EGR valve is supposed to open up introducing exhaust gas to cool it down if the combustion temperature is getting too hot~ you might check the operation of your EGR valve~....possibly replace it~

Why not put a new water pump in? all that money but keep the old pump? WHY? what else did they cheap out on? a thermostat maybe?
