1993 jeep Cherokee pit in 4WD engine stopped now won't start

Could be almost anything. Does the engine turn over?

It sounds like it's about to start. The 4WD gear is stuck between off and 4WD low. Lights come inn everything justbwotnn start. Sound like it's about to but doesnt.

It's runs find until we popped it into 4WD and switch gear it stopped and then won't turn on.

Do you have fuel? Can you hear the fuel pump prime? Check for spark.

Yes fuel. Not sure what fuel pump prime. We tried dislogging the gear out of 4WD but it won't budge

There is switch on transmission that stops it from starting so thinking it's that because it may be caught between gears

You could try and bypass the neutral safety switch but if the engine is turning over that is not the problem.

How do u bypass the neutral safety

My bf seems to think because it's stuck between gears on the 4WD shift it wont start

Part time light comes on even when he just got it back to the regular 4WD and part time is flickering on dashboard

You said the engine turns over so it is not the neutral safety switch. To bypass you find it and wire the two wires together.

Ok ya engine turns over it's sound alike it's about to start right at the end and then nothing

I suspect a fuel delivery problem. Did you check for spark at the engine?

He says it's not that. I have a stubborn one and Doesn't think that switching it into 4WD would stop the spark to engine

The transmission is unrelated to fuel and spark delivery. He is right.
