91 Wrangler YJ 2.5L, Needs new gas tank
There's a hole in my gas tank and I need to replace it but I'm not sure which one to buy. It says on the websites that the 87 though 95 tanks are combatable but then half the tanks say 87-90. So what changed between the 90 and the 91 models that the gas tank wouldn't work between those models and if that's the case then why do other tanks work all the way from 87 to 95 models? Would the MTS 15 Gallon Polyethylene Fuel Tank For 87-90 Jeep® Wrangler YJ Quadratec Part No: 51306.07Q Manufacturer Part No: 62 work on a 91? There's a huge price difference in the tanks so I guess I just wanted to know the difference and which one I actually needed before I buy.
got to recommend a non rusting plastic one~
I would check with the manufacturer if there is a question of the tank fitting and having the pump opening in the correct place. I would prefer the plastic tank too. Check with owners on JeepForum.com to see what fits your 91 Jeep.
the difference in cost between the steel and plastic, prompts the question "how long you plan to keep it" if more than ten years go with the plastic, gonna sell in a couple of years would take the steel, just on account of the cost~
