Chevy spark transmission

Asked by GuruBD7X4 Dec 07, 2018 at 11:45 PM about the 2015 Chevrolet Spark

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My daughter owns a 2015 spark. She just had the transmission replaced
under factory warranty.  The new transmission is acting up again. Is there an
electronic issue causing this? Or is it A run of junk transmissions from Chevy.

The 2014-2015 chevy spark transmissions are complete crap. If you buy one you are pretty much guaranteed to experience problems and most likely replace it. Sometimes you can get lucky and it will be the Transmission Control Module that needs to be replaced which is around $250 and whatever the programming cost from chevy dealership is (if installed yourself).

i have a 2013 spark and tranny acts up sometimes a couple times a week or sometimes it wont act up for a few weeks, when i leave my house it wont shift gears unless you pull over and restart the car then it is fine, used code reader gets transmission system code. dont know what to do at this point but spend $230 getting fluid and filter changed on tranny

Bought a Spark, did all maintenance as required. On the transmission service, they said they could not perform the job for lack of fluid. Trans went out at 103,000 miles. Was told they would replace it for 3,500. Bullshit, traded for a Kia.
