timing belt or chain?
Need to know if a 2015 Sonata has timing belt or chain? Not happy with belts
as they wear out and damage the engine and costly to repair. We had one go
out on our 2004 and locked up everything while driving, extremely dangerous
situation

the hyundai Sonata and others hyundai models had Timing Chains, not a rubber belt

Correction. GuruBR9BC is correct. All Hyundais have timing chains, not belts. I was looking at a data base for Honda. I deleted my incorrect post so no one else gets incorrect info. Sorry about that.

Seems older Elantras have belts to be changes every 60,000 mi
My 2000 Hyundai Tiberon had a belt. I changed it twice.

Not ALL Hyundai's have a timing chain. The Tucson 2009 has a timing belt.
