2005 AWD Sorento with noise in driver side front end.

Asked by Zacharybeau Oct 19, 2014 at 09:44 PM about the 2005 Kia Sorento

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When driving the Sorento it sounds like the front wheel(drivers side) is going to come
off. Have had it in the shop several times and the techs say nothing is wrong. When
they drive it they say they don't hear any noise, Then I try to drive it home and the
noise is so bad it freaks me out!. They changed the fluid in the transfer cases. Said it
was really BAD! Noise is still there. You can feel thumping against your feet while
driving it. Anyone else had this problem or know what it could be?

Sway bar links? Sway bar bushings? Motor/transmission/transfer case mounts? Body mounts?

I am having the same problem with my 2007 Kia Sorento. While driving it suddenly starts shaking and sounds like a wheel is coming off. First time it happened, I pulled off the road think I had blown a tire. Nope. Tires are fine. I was confused so I started driving again. No problem. Smooth and quiet. Two minutes later, it happened again. I pulled to stop on the side of the road and after stopping, I immediately started going again.. no noise and shaking. But ever few minutes of so it does it again. After stopping and then driving again... it stops. If feels like the car is shaking apart. The last time it happened, it seems like it was from the driver's side front, but I am not yet positive. Have you found any answers yet?
