Can use a metal file, to file down the edges on my battery terminal?

Asked by salvage18 Aug 13, 2014 at 04:39 PM about the 2004 Kia Sedona

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The old (stock) terminal is to small for the bolts that come with the new universal terminal
replacements. I saw that you can replace the whole unit. but i do not have the tools or the
experience to cut the wires. I figured i just file the insides just enough  for the bolt to fit. Is
this even possible?
