Battery light

Asked by Amanda Sep 30, 2018 at 11:36 PM about the 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan

Question type: General

My battery light came on while we were driving on
the highway. We pulled into a auto shop they
tested the battery and all tests said the battery was
fine. When we left the light did not turn back on so
we thought everything was fine. Two days later the
battery light came back on when we were driving
on the highway again but this time it stayed on. We
just recently had a new battery and alternator put
in our van so I'm wondering what the problem
could be?

Did they test the alternator as well? Dodges have used a PCM chip to govern the voltage regulator for their alternators, if the alternator and battery test as good, it can be a bad PCM, and that should be tested at the dealership.
