Certified Pre Owned listing

I've seen a few older cars listed as CPO on cargurus, and even went to look at
one, only to learn they weren't actually CPO. Can someone list a vehicle as
CPO without proving that it really is?

The content of ads here are the responsibility of the person selling the vehicle. So they can put whatever they want in the ad. Just like Craigslist, for example. This is why going to see a vehicle before you decide to buy it is always the thing to do! Jim
