growling noise from clutch or bell housing

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a stick shift 95 Ranger that has developed a loud growling grinding noise when decellerating, depressing the clutch and applying brakes.  It appears to be coming from the bell housing area.  My break pads are in good shape.  And the noise continues even after letting off the brakes.  Anyone seen this problem?  What am I faced with in repairs?  New clutch....throw-out bearing?
