Stereo Not Playing Music from Phone

I have a Hyundai Elantra 2016 and recently the radio stopped playing music
from phone. I don't have Bluetooth capabilities so my phone is connected via
Apple charging cable. My phone will connect to the car but fail to play the
music from the stereo. Is there a way to fix this?

So it used to play music and now it doesn't? Maybe there is a setting on the vehicle system that changed? I know if the phone is connected via the cable, make sure the cable is in good working order, a bad cable will disconnect the phone to CarPlay. Also make sure the volume is up on the phone and the phone is not not locked and you can view the screen.
