ssl error

Asked by GuruH7G8 Apr 21, 2017 at 01:23 PM about the 2016 Chevrolet Spark

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

when ever I try to use my GPS in my car I get an "SSL error has occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made" needless to say this causes me to get lost as I have no sense of direction.  My GPS works in any other vehicle just not mine.  It is very annoying!!!!  I brought my car in for an oil change and asked them to check this as well - I had a scheduled appointment at 7:00 but needless to say when I called at 3:00p I was told nothing had been done on my car so my point of contact person (Don) at Freedom Chevrolet put a rush on it, when I picked up my car after work and asked about the GPS thing he  told me they never got around to it because the mechanics don't like to do that part.  Needless to say yesterday 04/20/17 I was lost again.

Probably "Satelite signal lost" ... Borrow a friends and check things out . Sometimes you need to move the GPS location to a better place in the car where the signal may be stronger. BTW .. if someone asked me to check a GPS out ,,, I would laugh at them because it has absolutely nothing to do with the cars operation

You need to deactivate the WiFi in your car! If your phone ever connected to it and then did not renew costly subscription it tries to connect on that WiFi. You can also quickly turn off WiFi on your phone and it will work!
