Toyota Camry Suddenly has no brake fluid

My daughter went on a road trip in her Toyota Camry and the brake fluid light
came on.  When she checked it, it was empty.  They filled it up.  But I am
thinking it shouldn't be empty.  Are they ok to travel back?

Suggest a Brake Inspection be performed on this vehicle. Might be a fluid leak or the brake pads are worn out. Does the brake pedal go down too far when the brakes are applied? Any noises when the BP is applied?
