Squeaky Fan Belt

The belt may have streched due to normal wear and tear. The tensioner in this model is spring loaded so it automaticaly adjusts i know in a couple engines i have had with this style tensioner i could just put a little pressure on the tensioner to make it tighter and that would solve the problems. If that dosent work then u will probably have to change the belt.

Try applying dry flakes of ordinary soap. Like a squeaky drawer will stop squeaking when you rub soap in the area it squeaks. Check tension, trueness of the belt with a square. it has to be straight. From the housing check all pulleys to see that they are true. If they are then chea=ck the other pulleys. Remove belt check if the pulleys squeak if so apply a grease until it stops or use soap until squeaking stops. Then reapply the belt. Check belt for cracks and if belt is extremely shiny in one spot this means one of pulleys were rubbing there try to mark with chalk or a permanent marker. Show it to a parts person they can offer up some free cheap advice.
