What does " Key pad not detected" indicate?

Tried to start my 2014 Santa Fe. No effort made to start and "key pad not detected", was the error message on the dashboard display.

If it says key pad, I have no idea. If it says key fob, that means your smart key battery is shot, or not with you/close enough to hr steering column for the car to notice it.
