Check engine light

Asked by Victoria Sep 30, 2019 at 07:54 AM about the 2017 Hyundai Elantra

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The check engine light will come on very
briefly, the car will lose some power and it
shakes.  This usually lasts less than a mile,
then goes off and everything, except my
nerves, seems ok.  Any ideas?  The dealer
can’t run diagnostics if the light is not in
when I get there.

Bullshit if the light comes on and goes off a code is stored.Take it to a parts store and have them check the stored codes. They will charge you nothing and only takes a few seconds with a code scanner. If a code does come up and was stored they may be able to tell you what part failed and is needed.
